Bowen’s brief was to consolidate three fully operational warehouses into one new distribution centre (DC).
At the same time, allow for a forth interstate DC to be fitted into the space, along with a future conveyor system.
Our designed solution provided for the installation of new shelving in 50% of the picking area. This allowed the client to move stock from two of the warehouses into the new shelving and Bowen then relocated the existing shelving from the two warehouses to the new DC. This was an environmentally sustainable and economic option for the client.
We also supplied and installed 27,600 pallet locations of used racking, again, an environmentally sustainable and economic option for the client.
Our storage system design allowed us to reduce the selective racking to 5,000 pallet locations and incorporated 2,000 BR1000 Shuttle racking locations for high-density storage.
A state of the art national DC with space for future expansion.
We coordinated the new products and the relocation of the existing systems in conjunction with the clients relocation plans. We also modified the shelving to comply with the latest fire regulations.
