Double deep pallet racking offers companies a space-efficient alternative to standard pallet racking. This system allows for the reduction of the number of access aisles required while increasing a high-density system for large, slow-moving or bulk item storage.
Double-deep pallet racking storage is ideal for medium volumes up to 3000 pallets - increasing storage capacity by 30%, depending on your warehouse configuration.
This system is specifically designed:
• To hold two pallets deep, allowing for higher density storage whilst maintaining 50% accessibility.
• To operate in medium aisles with equipment that can reach double pallet depths designed for last-in-first-out (LIFO) access.
• To accommodate variable pallet heights.
• For a larger surface area to distribute the load weight and increase the storage rack systems lifespan.
• For loading and unloading by special materials handling equipment, often deep reach lift trucks fitted with a pantograph mechanism to reach the second pallet location.
Accessories are available to accommodate different unit load types and include guide rails to assist in loading and unloading goods, particularly on higher levels.
Post sections are roll-formed powder coated high tensile steel, providing the unit with strength, consistency and a corrosive resistant finish. This minimises twisting and provides excellent resistance to frontal impact damage.
This high-density pallet racking solution complies with AS4084-2023 Australian Standards.
Technical Specifications:
• Frame Heights – available in 50mm increments up to 9250mm
• Frame Depths – 840mm and 1200mm
• Beam Spans – 1350mm, 2600mm, 2750mm, 3050mm and 3850mm. Beams can be manufactured to suit your specific pallet storage application.
Double Deep Pallet Racking uses standard selective racking components to store pallets two deep. Double deep racking maximises storage through increased density compared to selective racking but with reduced pallet accessibility. Special forklifts with extended reach ability are required to use this storage method. Lower level pallets are required to be stored on beams just above the ground, further adding to rack safety and stability.

Maximises available space through the reduction in aisle requirements
Requires the use of sliding fork attachments
Upper levels can be fitted with helpful guide rails
